Hertford Farmers' Market
Saturday, 08/12/07 08:30 - 13:00
East Herts Council is working hard to support Farmers' Markets throughout the district. The markets are an exciting way to support local producers.

While arable farming dominates the landscape Hertfordshire has some of the finest livestock and poultry producers selling direct to the public at the markets and through direct sales from the farm. You can find delicious beef, pork, gammon, sausages and bacon from Farrowby Farm, together with superior poultry.

Connoisseurs will enjoy Hertfordshire blue cheese from Wobbly Bottom Farm. Vegetables, honey, local flour and bread from the bakery at Redbournbury Mill, cakes, pastries, newly laid eggs, pickles and preserves made from fruit and vegetables sourced locally, complete a 'taste the difference' weekend shopping basket.

The council has bought the stalls which the traders use and they're transported to the market each time at no expense to the stallholders. It's also at no cost to the council tax payer - they were paid for with a grant from the East of England Development Agency.

To ensure the safety and the future of farmers markets, we provide training in food hygiene, health and safety, marketing and business development courses - all free to stallholders.
